About us

The Malaguti story is made of passion for two-wheelers, creativity and technological research.

The adventure of Antonino Malaguti started in 1930 as a bicycle manufacturer in a small factory in Bologna and very soon the Malaguti two-wheelers began sponsoring famous cycling champions: Malaguti stood for quality, inventions and avant-garde technologies.
After the second world war, Malaguti started manufacturing mopeds, which soon became the company’s core business. The MOSQUITO engine, assembled on a special Malaguti lightweight frame with integrated tank, marked the shift from bicycles to motorbikes. Later came the EXPRESS (named after its German engine) which made the Malaguti brand name widely known on the international markets.
Over 2,300,000 produced vehicles, among them many top-selling models such as the Fifty (started in 1975), F10 (started in 1992) and Phantom (started in 1994, with over 450,000 units produced).
In order to meet the new market requirements, in 1999 Malaguti started widening its range with bigger capacity scooters: the first 100 cc, 125 cc and 250 cc models (such as Ciak and Madison) were later followed by further models until reaching 500 cc with the innovative SpiderMax.
More recently, the changing market conditions led Malaguti to take new ways. Still located in the old San Lazzaro di Savena headquarters close to Bologna and still owned and managed by the founder’s family, today Malaguti returns to its roots with innovation and technology by offering the new EcoBici e-bikes, a modern, practical and environment-friendly solution for today’s mobility needs.
With over 80 years of experience in the two-wheelers branch, today Malaguti supplements its wide distribution network with shop.malaguti.com in order to offer to both private customers and professionals the possibility to purchase online a wide range of spare parts and accessories for scooters and motorbikes of all brands. A modern and fully equipped workshop is also available offering a highly qualified multibrand repair service for scooters and motorbikes.
Innovation, respect for tradition, avant-garde design and great reliability still keep Malaguti’s mission unchanged, now as then.
